From South (from Taupo)
Travel north along Fenton Street. Turn right into Arawa Street at the round-a-bout by the clock tower. Enter Government Gardens through the wooden arches. Once through the arches you will see the museum ahead of you to the right of the next round-a-bout.
From North (from Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga (via Tauranga Direct Rd))
Follow the signs towards the City Centre until you turn on to Arawa Street. Continue along Arawa Street until you enter the Government Gardens through the wooden arches. Once through the arches you will see the museum ahead of you to the right of the next round-a-bout.
From East (from Whakatane, Tauranga (via Te Puke))
Follow the signs to the City Centre. At the traffic lights by McDonalds turn right into Fenton St. Turn right into Arawa Street at the round-a-bout by the clock tower. Enter Government Gardens through the wooden arches. Once through the arches you will see the museum ahead of you to the right of the next round-a-bout.
