Rotorua Museum is a non smoking venue. There are also restrictions on food, drink, photography and large backpacks within the museum building.

Food – Drink – Smoking
Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited in all areas of the museum.

Photography or Video Recording
With the exception of the Foyer and Viewing Platform, photography and video recording is not allowed inside the Museum building.

Large Bags/Back packs
For security reasons large bags or backpacks are not permitted inside the galleries. Your bag will be requested by museum staff and locked away until visit is complete. Bags are stored in a secure area. It is not advisable to leave your bags or any valuables in your vehicles.

Unsupervised children
Children under 14 yrs of aged must be supervised by an adult at all times while visiting Rotorua Museum.

Rotorua Resident I.D
Local visitors must present proof of residency to receive free admission. Please bring along something showing your address (e.g. power bill) and some I.D (e.g. drivers license). If you are a Rotorua school student, just bring along your school I.D card.
