Friends of Rotorua Museum AGMDate: Thursday, 24 September 2020
Venue: Te Rūnanga Tea House Government Gardens
Time: 5.30pm – 7pm
The Friends of Rotorua Museum Annual General Meeting is an opportunity to meet members, hear about the activities for the year, and vote for the new executive committee. If you have an interest in Rotorua Museum and the arts in Rotorua please consider giving time to the committee.
Members and non-members are encouraged to attend the AGM to support the Friends of Rotorua Museum committee, which in turn supports the Museum and its staff.
Lizzie Marvelly, the new Director of Rotorua Museum Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa, will talk about her vision for the Museum and give us an update on the building renovations.
As well as visits and talks the committee arranges fund-raising events. The money raised goes to the Acquisitions Fund for purchasing art works for the Museum collection and providing funding for other museum projects.
This year the Friends of the Rotorua Museum of Art & History Inc. marks 40 years since incorporation on 15 October 1980, so we think this requires a little celebration. Drinks, nibbles and a birthday cake will be provided.
The AGM will go ahead if we remain in COVID-19 Alert Level 2 by observing contact tracing, physical distancing, hand sanitising and limiting numbers to 100. Unfortunately we will not be able to go ahead with the socialising and drinks afterwards in Level 2.
