Outside the Walls Guided TourUntil: Sunday, 28 June 2020
Venue: Government Gardens
Time: 11am & 2pm
Rotorua Museum is fortunate to be housed in an area rich in history, and following the closure of the Bath House building in November 2016 for seismic strengthening, Rotorua Museum is offering free ‘outside the walls’ guided tours around Government Gardens.
Participants are advised to bring good walking shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. Tours depart from in front of the Museum in Government Gardens - weather dependant.
Tours are Saturday and Sunday: 11am and 2pm, every weekend throughout June 2020.
The walking tours are a great way to learn about some of the lesser known stories and geothermal nature of the area. Tours are about 1 – 1.5 hours and take in the fascinating history of the area including historical buildings, gardens, art and Māori carvings – including the Bath House where Rotorua Museum is housed.
